Ten Thousand Islands
My very first camera also came with the insatiable appetite to venture into the wilderness offered by the country's National Parks.
At the time I was living in South Florida and I used my camera as a pretext to explore the Everglades.
I hated it: hordes of blood sucking mosquitoes, snakes, alligators and temperatures too hot for comfort made it my least desired place to photograph; but for some reason it grew on me and it kept alluring me back, every time sending me home with more mosquito bites than the previous outing.
But now enamored with the Glades I embarked into a personal journey of discovery and exploration throughout Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
I launched my kayak from Everglades City and spent 4 days paddling across the largest mangrove forest in North America.
